The Raj Thackerey Paradox - The full story (full context is important)

Please watch the entire speech to make sense of it all.

RAJ adressing a sabha at borivali (east)....

Well my 2 cents:

The media is freaking biased against Raj and after listening to what he says I think he's got somewhat a point. Well i never changed my opinion in 180 degrees as I did after listening to what he says. (this is not because he is praising so particular community :D). I don't endorse any views but I don't like the media producing such a biased view about someone by taking his speech out of context. What to say - impressed by the oratory skills ?

And ... the reach of fair justice is universal. It includes everyone including Raj Thackerey. You for one matter cannot start dispensing justice by doing injustice to Raj's opinion as the first step. His rights for expressing concern cannot be overlooked. I think its a good problem to think about and get a fair solution may not always be possible. Plato's defination of justice fits in well over here.

"Plato described justice differently than most standard definitions. To Plato, justice meant carrying out one’s duty to one’s station, i.e. workers work, auxiliaries guard, and guardians rule. Under this premise, if lying is part of one’s job, it is only just if one lies. The reason the lie is noble is because it is for a noble cause: the good of the people.

Plato raised several questions that are still at the heart of many modern conflicts and heated debates. What is justice? What is goodness?"
.....
Irony is after all, a remarkably powerful teacher.

The Raj Thackerey Paradox: Well whats the point in Raj addressing in marathi? When only maharashtrians understand marathi. The audience is quite limited and people who need to understand Raj cannot understand marathi. Sigh !! Strange situation.

Well we are all Indians but I think we cannot dismiss Raj's opinion because it not that senseless

P.S Iam libra. They usually like to be on the other side of the discussion and probably more artistic about solving problems. And vanity is my favorite sin. As favorite as it was to Al pacino.

what you are going to achive by saying things loudly... only you can create anger and haterate not direction.

If ppl from other state are coming to maharastra then take it as healthy compititon ... by doing so you will achive good quality... state should represent their ppl not their cast or language ..... You can never feel proud by just belonging to something....for that you have to be part of it and for progress you need to WORK not a Marathi or gujrati or tamil or bengali or punjabi etc........

An excellent oration.

Its politicians from the states that these migrants come from, that are mainly responsible. Its really frustrating when you see the same people now shout against Raj for the injustice he's meting out.

What about the injustice they've done in their own state. Why is there no booming software industry in those states. Why do people from UP/Bihar have to come here to work even for wages as meagre as 2000 bucks a month ? It simply means those places cant support even such a simple income. Why don't those politicians do something about that ?

Please, concentrate on Raj's statement that everybody is welcome here if they are ready to love the culture and participate in the welfare of the state. If all they do here is put a strain on the resources that are already scarce then a strong resentment is what we are going to welcome them with.

Some people also talk about how Mumbai has benefitted from the influx of all these people. Why did these people come here in the first place. Did we invite them here ? They came out of personal reasons. Better jobs, better living conditions etc. All the major industries have bases here. Why is that ? .... Go try and get these to move back to backward states. Do your corrupt politicians have the balls to do that ?

Its very easy to be myopic and not see the complete picture. Just concentrate on the outlash and you are bound to find Raj guilty but think about the broader picture and reality will hit home.

If there is a utopia with numerous freedom of speech then we have miniature politicians everywhere. People in power and people with out power. The bottom line is they all want to make themselves heard and felt in whatever style they wish to incorporate. Like two sides of a coin, when Raj Thakeray said such things and saying and making offensive remarks doesn't mark a new beginning but paving a path for unwanted trouble.
I don't understand whats the big deal whether its Raj Thakeray or anyone if people would have hardly paid any attention to the bullshit the politicians provide life would a better place ...its like listen and just walk on ur ways....

I liked the way you have crafted your Blog.
